Rainbow Stables, the home of Timmins Therapeutic Riding Association, has a large outdoor riding arena with ramp and mounting blocks and a grass arena for mounted games. They also have barns, an outdoor storage building/tack room, and a flood lit arena for evening/night riding. The Timmins Therapeutic Riding Association has several carts, sleighs, and wagons, as well as equipment for western games, trail riding, jumping and driving. Check out our Freedom Trail, a 2.2 km scenic trail that winds through woods and meadows for riding and driving and community fundraising events. We appreciate the support of our sponsors who are vital in helping to meet the ongoing need for repairs and maintenance. This ensures public safety and allows us to continue with our equine assisted learning programs and annual community events such as our Country Jamboree Family Day held in June and our Halloween favorite, "Spook Walk" held in October.
As a community partner you can also help through full or partial sponsorship of a horse. Consider sponsoring a horse today! (Find out what is involved in the cost of sponsoring a horse for one year. )
Donations are also needed in regard to our Projects listed below.
A covered megadome structure providing year round recreation and therapeutic programming for persons of all ages in a safe environment. Programs that are currently seasonal and subject to cancellation due to inclement weather would benefit from a covered structure that offers protection against rain and snow. This will significantly extend hours of use. The infrastructure will foster active living as well as influence a healthy and well-being lifestyle, provide leadership
skills and a learning environment for people of all ages but will focus on vulnerable people and groups such as women's shelters,
the elderly, school children, indigenous people. and persons with physical, developmental and other disabilities for Timmins and region.
Our outdoor riding ring is in need of adequate lighting to accommodate current and future growth of program riding needs. Due to the limited daylight hours in rural Northern Ontario, a well lighted therapeutic riding ring will extend hours of use, enhance the quality of programming, and add a significant safety element to the program.
Our outdoor storage building and tackroom is in need of extensive renovations and expansion for equipment storage and to accommodate and client and volunteer needs. Contractors recommend a new building in lieu of modifications due to extensive renovations required. Estimates include electrical, lighting, shelving, corner kitchen, wood framing, insulation, flooring, roofing, windows and doors.
Our haybarn is in need of expansion for equipment storage and to accommodate and client and volunteer needs. East Side expansion of 48' x16'x13 high including framing, roofing, footings - Sonotube, metal siding, roofing and door.
West Side expansion of 30'x24'x13' high including framing, roofing, footings - Sonotube, metal siding and roofing.
